CBD oil is best known for its calming effects. It is short for cannabidiol which is considered a completely natural product. I started Hempishop in 2012 out of a personal quest for a healthy and sustainable lifestyle and my fascination with hemp and everything the little plant can do for the world. In my web shop I sell CBD oil and sustainable (hemp) products. The active substances in CBD oil are extracted from the leaves and flower tops of the hemp plant. The active substance is then dissolved in vegetable oil to produce CBD oil. By now, quite a few people are hearing about the use of CBD oil. The demand for CBD is growing and the supply is increasing. More and more people are using CBD oil and logically have questions about it. How do you judge the value for money of a CBD product? Which product is right for you? How do you use CBD oil? Above all, take some time to inform yourself. I answer all frequently asked questions about CBD oil And give you the best buying tips! Here are some of the most frequently asked questions regarding cannabidiol (CBD). Do you also have a question you don't find in this list? Let me know, then we might add it!
CBD stands for cannabidiol and is one of the many cannabinoids extracted from the cannabis plant. The active substances in the cannabis plant come mainly from the leaves and the flower tops. An extraction is made from this, and then the CBD extract is mixed with a carrier oil, in most cases the based on hemp seed oil or olive oil. This is called CBD oil.
Endogenous cannabinoids are also called endocannabinoids. All mammals produce endocannabinoids. These substances fulfil their role within the endocannabinoid system. This system tunes hormone production, controls the immune system, regulates organ activity and influences protein synthesis. The body's own endocannabinoids are almost identical to plant-based cannabinoids. CBD from hemp is therefore very easily absorbed by your body and fits the same receptors.
First, it is useful to know how and why CBD works. Among other things, the oil can be described as calming. The oil is usually taken by dripping it under the tongue. The active substance in the oil is then absorbed through the oral mucosa. The effect of this substance varies per person and the severity of the complaints. It is therefore strongly recommended to build up the dosage gradually. In addition, the oils may differ in strength, which is expressed in percentages.
Do not confuse CBD oil with THC, the substance that gets you high or stoned. The amount of THC in CBD oil is negligible. It is important to distinguish these substances as THC can lead to psycho-active effects. Due to the low percentage of THC, CBD oil is legal. This is in contrast to several cannabis oils that do contain THC.
CBD oil is good for reducing various mental and physical complaints. For example, the oil helps reduce stress, sleep problems and pain. The oil consists of cannabinoids that also occur naturally in our bodies. The cannabidiol in the oil is able to restore disturbances, returning balance to the body. This can provide proper support to the body. To the question "what do you use CBD oil for?", there is no one specific answer. Everyone has different purposes and uses CBD for different complaints.
Since cannabidiol consists of cannabinoids that also already occur naturally in our bodies, you can definitely call CBD healthy. Cannabidiol is able to repair disturbances in our endocannabinoid system, returning our body to homeostasis. Balance returns and the body gets the right support, making us feel good.
When used correctly, the oil can have a very positive impact on sleep. Not infrequently, people can taper off their sleep medication and catch a good sleep entirely on cannabidiol.
The oil comes with a pipette that allows you to drip the oil both under the tongue and in food. However, dripping under the tongue has a faster effect than incorporating the oil into food or a capsule. This is because it is absorbed under the tongue by the oral mucosa. In food, the oil is absorbed by the intestines and stomach.
Quality CBD oil starts with the hemp, of course. The little plant grows fast by nature and has its own defence system against pests. That makes hemp an ideal crop for organic cultivation. I believe you get the tastiest tomatoes if you grow them organically. And I believe you get the best CBD if you grow the hemp plant as naturally as possible.
To answer the question what is the best CBD oil, start by asking what percentage is most suitable for you. There is no such thing as a ready-made answer. It all depends on things like your goal, stature, sensitivity. In short, you need to discover what works for you. How do you do that? Start with an average percentage of e.g. 5%. Experiment with the number of drops and the distribution of doses throughout the day. By doing so, you will find out what works well for you. The general recommended starting dose is 1 to 2 drops 1-3 times a day.
The most distinguishing feature of each CBD product is the percentage of the active ingredient. The packaging states what percentage of CBD the product consists of. Most common are 2.5% and 5%. CBD oil of 2.5% often serves as a maintenance dietary supplement. Percentages of 5% and higher are used more purposefully.
Besides the percentage, the extraction method is also important to look at. There are three methods of extracting CBD from hemp: oil extraction, CO2 Extraction and alcohol extraction. If done carefully, you can get a good product with any extraction method. There is a slight preference for the CO2 extraction, because this extraction method retains the nutrients and cannabinoids best. Alcohol extraction has the most disadvantages. In alcohol, not all nutrients and cannabinoids dissolve well, resulting in a less rich product.
In oil extraction, the hemp in hemp seed oil dipped (sometimes olive oil used). Heating causes CBDa (the acid/acid form of CBD) to be converted into CBD and absorbed into the hemp seed oil. After sieving, you are left with a rich CBD oil with the mild flavour of hemp seed oil. In this process, it is more difficult to get the CBD oil to a certain percentage. Oil extraction is therefore a somewhat more difficult and lengthy process which also makes the price a bit higher. Due to the heating, other nutrients and cannabinoids are not retained as well in this process.
In CO2 extraction, one uses carbon dioxide to put the plant material under high pressure. This releases CBD and the other cannabinoids. This is an efficient method that yields a rich CBD oil that is somewhat sharper in flavour. This is sometimes referred to as full spectrum CBD oil because all the nutrients and other cannabinoids are well preserved as there is no heating involved in the extraction process. CBD is the best-known cannabinoid, in addition, more and more is becoming known about the influence of the other cannabinoids such as CBDa, CBG, CBGa, CBC, CBN and CBNa.

Before I opened this online shop, I had been using CBD in the form of tea for a while. I did research on the producers and ended up with the Danish Endoca and the Austrian MediHemp. Both companies keep all production in-house. They grow the hemp, extract the CBD and make the finished products. They are family businesses with a lot of experience and an excellent reputation where you can trust the best organic quality.
