Making your own THC oil with the cannolator

With the Cannabinoid Extractor from the Mediwiet Foundation, you can easily make your own cannabis oil yourself. Your cannabis oil is ready quickly in 2 hours and always has the same strength. By using a cannolator, you reduce the use of alcohol by as much as 50%!

The advantage of using cannabis oil over smoking cannabis

Smoking cannabis usually has an effect of 1.5 hours. After that, it wears off. Weed oil has an effect of up to 3 to 5 hours and you can keep it for a long time.

What do you need to make your own cannabis oil?

Making cannabis oil starts with the cannolator cannabis extractor. Two options are available:

• Cannolator Base
• Cannolator Complete

The cannolator base consists of the following parts:

• 1 cannolator stand
• 2 glass extraction tubes made of impact-resistant and heat-resistant borosilicate glass
• 1 measuring cup 250ml
• 3x 10ml pipette bottles
• 1 extra-long cleaning brush
• 1 custom-made handy cleaning pen for emptying extraction tubes
• 1 Long spoon (21cm)
• 1 leaflet with instructions

The cannolator complete is further enhanced with:

• an air pump with hose
• a baby bottle warmer

Some parts are also available separately. In addition, you still need:

• Alcohol
• Olive oil
• Roadmap to making your own cannabis oil with a cannolator

Step 1: Weigh 20 grams of cannabis. This can be either buds, but trimmings and leaves give the same quality and are cheaper. Dry the cannabis extra well and rub finely between your hands so that everything fits into the glass extraction tube of the Cannolator. Step 2: After every 2 teaspoons, press down well with the Cannolator cleaning pen. Hang the air hose at the top of the cup. This way, vaporisation goes 3 to 4 times faster. Turn the pump and heater on at the highest setting. Step 3: Pour on 6 times the weight of alcohol. So for 20 grams of cannabis, you pour on 120 ml of alcohol. First, the alcohol evaporates and the mixture does not get hotter than 80 degrees Celsius. Step 4: Alcohol of 95% consists of water for 5%. When all the alcohol is gone, the water evaporates and the temperature rises above 80 degrees Celsius. When all the water has evaporated, small bubbles are formed by 'decarboxylation'. This produces active THC. When no new bubbles form and the oil remains smooth, it is ready. This is 2 hours after starting the whole process. Then you have made 2 grams of pure cannabis oil. Step 5: Fill a 10ml pipette bottle with olive oil. Pour this into the glass measuring cup of the Cannolator with the 2 grams of pure cannabis oil. Heat the mixture and stir well for 5-10 minutes. Pour the warm mixture back into the bottle. Marijuana oil stays good for over a year at room temperature and in the fridge for years. Note that cold oil becomes stiff and drips awkwardly.

Using the homemade cannabis oil

Usually, cannabis oil works within 10 minutes. Every person and every body is different so this can also take longer. There are several ways to take cannabis oil. Using the pipette bottle, squeeze a few drops on the back of your hand and lick it up. You can also drizzle some oil into a teaspoon and take it. Or you can drip the oil directly under your tongue. Usually 1-2 drops per is enough. Note! Alcohol is flammable and alcohol vapour is explosive. Ensure good ventilation, place all products under an extractor hood if necessary, avoid open flames and keep constant supervision.
