What is hemp tea?

There is a minimal amount of THC in hemp tea. To be precise, it is only 0.2% THC, which means you will definitely not get high from the tea. Hemp tea is made from the entire hemp plant, except the stems and seeds. In particular, the flowers and leaves are used. There may sometimes be some seeds in hemp tea, as these occur naturally in the flowers. The leaves and flowers of the hemp plant also contain fibre and contain the substance CBD. The rest of the plant can be used for various applications. However, the tea contains less CBD than you are used to with CBD oil, for example.

What should you look out for when buying hemp tea?

There are more and more shops and supermarkets selling hemp tea, but beware! The term hemp tea is often rigged. We have come across packets of hemp tea that contain only herbs and hemp seeds or dried hemp seed oil. Obviously, this is not real hemp tea as it does not contain hemp leaves and/or flowers.

Hemp tea and cannabis tea can be seen as the same tea. In some cases, cannabis tea is made from a marijuana plant. If this is the case, it does differ from the fibre hemp plant. Like hemp tea, CBD tea is perfectly legal in the Netherlands.

What is the difference between hemp tea and cannabis tea?

People often think that a hemp plant is the same as a cannabis plant. This they are wrong. In fact, there is indeed a difference between these plants, both in terms of substances and effects. The hemp plant is used to make hemp tea. The plant eb the tea contains an amount of CBD, which is considered a legal substance in the Netherlands. In contrast, cannabis tea is made from the marijuana plant which means the tea contains an amount of THC. THC often gives a high or psychoactive feeling and thus differs from CBD. Large amount of THC, on the other hand, is considered illegal in the Netherlands.

Hemp tea effect

The tea generally provides a soothing and relaxing effect for various ailments. Many people take the tea when they suffer from bowel problems, nausea and chronic pain.
