In CO2 extraction, one uses carbon dioxide to put the plant material under high pressure. This releases CBD and the other cannabinoids. This is an efficient method that yields a rich CBD oil that is somewhat sharper in flavour. In oil extraction, the hemp is dipped in hempseed oil (sometimes olive oil is used). Heating causes CBDa (the acid/acid form of CBD) to be converted into CBD and absorbed into the hemp seed oil. After sieving, you are left with a rich CBD oil extract with the mild flavour of hemp seed oil. In this process, it is more difficult to get the CBD oil to a certain percentage. Oil extraction is therefore a bit trickier and a more lengthy process which also makes the price a bit higher.
